I am in private practice as a Registered Nurse, with a Masters degree in Counseling. Nursing care is intrinsically holistic, and so is stress. Whether something affects us first in the body, heart, mind or spirit, it will eventually affect us in all these levels of ourselves; the best solutions are therefore going to also be whole-self. Bodywork with me has a focus on releasing the congestive physical effects of your stressors, along with encouraging whole-self integration. For example, I often recommend massage and Contact Improvisation or other partner dance to people who are dealing with the loss of touch in their lives, whether through death, divorce, or separation. Somatic contact practices can help meet the need for touch, clarify boundaries between sexual and nonsexual touch, and nourish our inherently social selves.

If you like, both bodywork and consulting sessions can be combined for you (in separate appointments) in your personal care plan, which we will develop together during your intake session. Clients are also welcome to come in for only bodywork, or only consulting. Please see Scheduling and Fees for that info.

Deep Relaxation Massage for Women is done on a standard massage table, in a lovely private room. You may leave on whatever clothing you want to; I can work with it. Your direction and feedback are encouraged and welcome, and your comfort and safety are top priority. As my practice is home-based, I choose to limit my clientele to women (yes, this is legal :-). I have given over 1,000 massages in my 40-year career; it holds a special place in my life. Gift certificates are also available. 25% off your first session!

Yoga Instruction is based on my several decades of experience. Restorative Yoga is for opening and deep rejuvenation; Yoga Nidra is the science of profound relaxation; Chair Yoga is for people with a desire to keep moving despite limitations (painful hips, knees, etc.). Ananda and Satyananda are the schools I studied with. Strengthening, cleansing and refreshing are on the menu. Currently offering private in-home instruction, and group Chair Yoga classes are at Timberhill Athletic Club in Corvallis. You can enjoy my free Yoga Nidra recordings here.

Contact Improvisation Dance is a very unique movement art. It is not about steps or following music; it is more about meditating with a practice partner, staying centered, being present. It offers an experience of physical and energetic connection that is independent of personal relationship. I recommend it for our touch-hunger, loneliness, and scatteredness; it’s very grounding and physical, as well as delicious and fun! It is also an excellent practice for couples to deepen connection. I’m currently teaching group drop-in classes every first Sunday of the month at the Corvallis Contact Improvisation weekly jam; see details on my Events pages HERE. Private lessons are also available.

Constatic Fusion (my naming) is a blend of CI and Freestyle (sometimes called Ecstatic) Dance, a steps-free, music-driven consciousness practice; the most fun I personally know how to have! Private instruction available.

Seeing, not seeing.
